Tumor microenvironment has progressively gained a forefront position in cancer research and their soluble products are increasingly being recognized as potential targets in cancer therapy. Our company employs its strong research capabilities and expertise toward the discovery, preclinical development and pharmaceutical assessment of new drugs, chemicals and biologics that can block tumor-microenvironment interactions promoting tumor progression and metastasis. The success of our drug discovery efforts derives from our expertise in organ-specific models of cancer metastasis and angiogenesis, and from our focus on the effects of inflammation and oxidative stress in the regulation of tumor cell behavior.

We identify and purify therapeutical targets based on functional criteria, and are using collaborations for the development of small molecule drugs. We already have several products in preclinical development whose potent anti-metastatic activities depend on their inhibitory action on tumor-stimulating effects of vascular/perivascular cells.

Dominion Pharmakine is located in the Bizkaia Technology Park, 15 km from Bilbao city and at 5 km from its international airport, close to the Basque Country University campus and major Basque health science center hospitals. The Company was founded in 2002 as a spin off of the University of the Basque Country. Now the company has assembled a highly capable management team with many years of broad-ranging experience. Its members guide the scientific, medical and business decisions of the company and work closely with our Board of Directors chaired by Dominion S.A. (Bilbao).
