Metastasis Model. Cancer cells are injected into
the cardiac left ventricle to create a model of systemic metastasis
occurrence with involvement of major organs (liver, lung,
brain, adrenals, bones, kidney, testes, etc) and the Kaplan
Meier curves are determined in vehicle and drug-treated mouse
groups. |

signaling networks contain redundant pathways and multiple
contributing cell types so that modulating a single pathway
or cell type in the system cannot achieve the desired therapeutic
effect. We assay for combination of the tested drug with another

Metastasis Dormancy versus
Recurrence Study: Frequently, dormant or slow-growing
subclinical metastases occur in cancer patients. We assay
for drug effect on occult experimental micrometastases at
prevascular and angiogenic stages, measuring 50-200 µm and
200-800 µm in diameter, respectively. |

Microenvironment-Promoted Metastasis
Study. We test for drug effect on metastases induced
by selected pathophysiological processes that are concomitant
to cancer progression in certain patient groups. The following
